چکیده

In the Michael Reese Heart Station, leads CF2, CF4, and CF5 are used to record the precordial electrocardiogram. This has been found to be satisfactory for ordinary clinical use (Katz, 1946). Other chest positions have been used and the chest electrode has been combined with different distant electrodes by others. Wilson and his school (Wilson et al., 1944) have been recommending a special electrode to be combined with the chest electrode; this is the central terminal which connects the three limb electrodes (each through 5000 ohms resistance): the leads so obtained are called V leads. The theoretical advantages of these leads have been questioned (Katz, 1946, and Wolforth and Livesey, 1944). Precordial electrocardiograms recorded by V leads and by CF leads obtained from chest positions 2, 4, CF V CF V

The electrocardiogram of athletes. Comparison with untrained subjects.

The resting electrocardiograms of 30 cyclists currently involved in competitive sport were compared with those of an equal number of healthy controls matched for age, height, and weight. The cyclists had significantly lower heart rates, longer PQ,QRS, and QTc intervals, higher T waves in lead II, left axis deviation of the T wave, higher R waves in the right and deeper S waves in the left praec...

Early detection of silent ischaemic heart disease by 24-hour electrocardiographic monitoring of active subjects.

Continuous 24-hour recordings of the electrocardiogram during everyday activities were obtained in 8o subjects with praecordial symptoms, who had normal 12-lead resting electrocardiograms and negative Master two-step tests. The ages of the subjects varied between 4I and 76 years (average 54-7). Forty-three were men and 37 were women, with similar age distribution in each of the sexes. In 37 pat...

Non-Linear Behavior of New (FSFN) Moment Resisting Connections in Comparison to the Existing KBB Connections in Steel Frames

After Northridge (1994) and Kobe (1995) earthquakes, several studies have been conducted to improve the seismic performance of steel structures. In this investigation, new steel moment-resisting connections (FSFN) developed by the authors, were studied by the non-linear numerical analysis. These connections were single-sided beam-to-column assemblies that are representative of exterior beam-to-...

Praecordial surface mapping after exercise in evaluation of propranolol for angina pectoris.

The effect of propranolol on ST depression in the praecordial 16 lead electrocardiogram was observed in 52 patients before and after treatment, both at rest and after exercise. In a further 20 patients exercise tests repeated on separate days two months apart showed that the technique gave reproducible results. A variable relation between symptomatic relief and praecordial exercise-induced ST s...

Comparison between scalar and corrected orthogonal electrocardiogram in diagnosis of acute myocardial infarcts.

Twelve-lead electrocardiograms and orthogonal electrocardiograms taken with Frank's corrected orthogonal lead system have been compared in 259 patients with recent myocardial infarction. In the scalar electrocardiograms a diagnostic recognition rate of 62 per cent was recorded. QIRratios > 0O2I in X lead, > o 22 in Y lead, and I -20 in Z lead were used as signs of myocardial infarctio...
